Game 154 Open Thread: Phillies at Nationals

The season is still going on, evidenced by the game happening tonight, tomorrow, and all the way through until October 4. I'm not sure why. Though I guess me wanting the season to be over isn't really a reason for it to happen.

I need something inspirational. Something that will help me make it through to the end of the season. It's so close, but it feels so far away. What is going to help get me through? Why, today's Sesame Street clip!

THIS FROG WILL HELP ME GET THROUGH. THIS FROG! This song builds so beautifully, and Jim Henson does a great job of adding urgency to Kermit's voice through the song. But the staging is just brilliant. He's in an office, and then he grabs his coat. Then he's outside with his coat over his shoulder, leaning against a lamppost. When the backing singers have their moment, Kermit is singing "AAAHHHHHHH!" in the background, at the top of his lungs, with all his heart. BUT IT'S NOT OVER YET. HE'S GOT MORE INSPIRING TO DO. So he climbs to the top of a pyramid type thing thing to end this amazing song.

"I MADE MYSELF A PROMISE AS A YOUNG, GREEN POLLYWOG! I'LL BE ON TOP! NOTHING CAN STOP. THIS. FROGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!" SING IT KERMIT! SING IT FOR ME! I CAN MAKE IT TO THE END OF THE PHILLIES SEASON OK LET'S GO HERE'S THE LINEUP!!!

KERMIT, DON'T FAIL ME NOW. I NEED YOU. I'M JUST GONNA PLAY "THIS FROG" ON REPEAT THE ENTIRE GAME. I CAN DO THIS. JUST FOR NINE MORE GAMES.
