Game 138 Open Thread: Braves at Phillies

The Phillies are just what Atlanta needs to stop their losing streak.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Phillies have a one game lead in the race for the first pick in baseball. But the Atlanta Braves are nipping at their heels. They've lost 12 straight games and are currently just one game better than the Phillies. This series will change that.

How will it change? Well, we'll all just have to watch and see what happens when two crappy teams meet each other on the field of battle baseball.

But there are more important things on my mind, because Grover has to deliver a telegram.

I desperately wanted to get a singing telegram from Grover when I was a kid. Specifically, I wanted this one: "On next Thursday cousin Fred will come and fix your waterbed! That's from Binky." That poor disgruntled man didn't know anyone named Binky, and neither did I, but I wished I did!

Here's tonight's lineup, which sadly contains no one named Binky.

Today's Lineups

ATLANTA BRAVES PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Nick Markakis - RF Cesar Hernandez - 2B
Hector Olivera - 3B Odubel Herrera - CF
Freddie Freeman - 1B Aaron Altherr - RF
A.J. Pierzynski - C Ryan Howard - 1B

Jace Peterson - 2B Cody Asche - 3B
Andrelton Simmons - SS Cameron Rupp - C
Michael Bourn - CF Freddy Galvis - SS
Williams Perez - RHP Aaron Harang - RHP

Happy Labor Day, everyone!
