Baseball Prospectus Releases its Top 101 Prospects

The Phillies are well represented with six players on the list, led by J.P. Crawford at #4 overall.

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

Today Baseball Prospectus released its Top 101 Prospects for 2016. The Phillies are well represented:

4. J.P. Crawford, SS
25. Nick Williams, OF
34. Jake Thompson, RHP
64. Mark Appel, RHP
70. Jorge Alfaro, C
95. Franklyn Kilome, RHP

Interestingly, the order differs some from the Phillies Top 10 that BP published earlier this month. The first three were the same, but were then followed by:

4. Kilome
5. Roman Quinn, OF
6. Cornelius Randolph, OF
7. Appel
8. Alfaro

Appel and Alfaro have now been moved up, even ahead of Kilome. Maybe the criteria for an MLB-wide list is different than for the team-specific ones.

In any case, having six players on the list is tied for 2nd most, behind only Colorado's seven:
