Pitchers and catchers report! The Felske Files Episode 36!

In Episode 36 of The Felske Files, host John Stolnis talks with Phillies beat writer Meghan Montemurro about the influx of new pitchers in Clearwater this spring. Also, The Good Phight's prospect guru Jay Polinsky stops by to talk about prospect lists, and BGN Radio's Matt Dering brings some much-needed insight into the world of computers, algorithms and how they can help a team like the Phillies.

Well kids, our long, cold winter without baseball is almost over.

That's right, pitchers and catchers have officially reported to Clearwater for spring training. Video has already surfaced of pitchers doing pitchers things, and I've seen some video of catchers squatting, so everyone is there!

Joining The Felske Files this week is Phils beat writer for The News Journal and DelawareOnline.com Meghan Montemurro, talking about all the new pitchers clamoring for spots in the rotation and bullpen. Get your scorecards handy. Among the items discussed...

  • Will Aaron Nola be the Opening Day starter?
  • Is Jerad Eickhoff really that good?
  • Who are Jeremy Hellickson and Charlie Morton?
  • Who has the inside track on the No. 5 starter?
  • Who will be the team's closer in 2016?
  • Will the bullpen be a complete disaster?
  • Will the Phils take an untraditional approach to utilizing relief pitchers?

In addition, The Good Phight's Jay Polinsky compares how Phillies prospects ranked in the four main prospect top 100 lists that have come out over the last few weeks. And BGN Radio's Matt Dering takes a closer look at the new Google employee the Phils have hired and what kind of work he might be doing to help the Phillies get an edge on the competition.

Plus, the Phils have a new radio deal and PECOTA's latest team projections are out. And, our Stat of the Week.
