Vince Velasquez (1-0) 0.00 ERA

PHILLIES: Velasquez showed why the Phillies wanted him so badly in the Ken Giles trade with Houston, bringing some swagger when he threw six scoreless innings against the Mets in his Phils’ debut Saturday at Citi Field.

Drew Pomeranz (1-0) 3.60 ERA

PADRES: Pomeranz won his Padres debut Saturday at Colorado when he gave up two runs in five innings on four hits and three walks, while striking out seven. Pomeranz threw 81 pitches in the victory.
