Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Weekend Probables:

LHV: Adam Morgan, TBD, Zach Eflin
REA: Ricardo Pinto, Anthony Vasquez, Alec Asher
CLR: Ranfi Casimiro, Elneiry Garcia, Tyler Viza
LWD: Shane Watson, Luke Leftwich, Harold Arauz

Pawtucket 13, Lehigh Valley 1

Jake Thompson - 3 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, WP, 1 GB, 2 FB
Colton Murray - 1.2 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, HR, WP
Luis Garcia - 2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, HR, WP
Andrew Bailey - 1.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 K
Brock Stassi - 1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, K
Darnell Sweeney - 0 for 4, K
Nick Williams - 0 for 4, 2 K (outfield assist, 3B)
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 3, R, 2B, HBP
Brock Stassi - 1 for 4, K
Tommy Joseph - 1 for 1, 2B (pinch hitter)

It's fairly safe to say that the pitching just didn't have it in them last night. It took a guy with serious shoulder issues and a 1st baseman to stop the bleeding. Jake Thompson was outdueled by former Phillie Sean O'Sullivan. Andrew Knapp and Tommy Joseph are riding nice little 3 game hitting streaks. Positives!

Reading 9, Harrisburg 0

Nick Pivetta - 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K, HBP, 7 GB, 1 FB
Yacksel Rios - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Roman Quinn - 1 for 4, 2 R, HBP, SB
J.P. Crawford - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, BB, K
Jorge Alfaro - 2 for 5, K
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 5, R, 2 K, SB
Rhys Hoskins - 1 for 3, 2 R, BB
Angelo Mora - 3 for 5, HR, 4 RBI
Aaron Brown - 1 for 5, R, 2B, RBI, K
Jesmuel Valentin - 1 for 4, R, 2B, RBI, K

Nick Pivetta bounces back from a bad 1st start with an absolute 1-hit gem. He was hit hard in awful weather conditions his first time out. This is something for him to build off of. He has good stuff, but the control hasn't been there. The Reading offense outhit Harrisburg 12-3. Angelo Mora hit a grandslam (his 2nd HR this season) in the 5th inning to break the game wide open. Roman Quinn has stolen 4 bases in 7 games played. He has yet to be caught stealing. After missing most of 2015, Jorge Alfaro is 13 for 28 in 6 games. You can get mildly excited.

Clearwater 6, Charlotte 4

Matt Imhof - 5 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 BB, 3 K, 3 GB, 5 FB
Alexis Rivero - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K
Miguel Nunez - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Scott Kingery - 1 for 3, R, 2B, SB, HBP
Drew Stankiewicz - 0 for 3, R, BB, 2 K
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 3
Kyle Martin - 1 for 3, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI, BB
Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, R, K
Cord Sandberg - 2 for 4, R, K
Malquin Canelo - 3 for 4, 2 RBI, K
Gabriel Lino - 0 for 4, K
Herlis Rodriguez - 1 for 4

Matt Imhof tried his best and he failed. Trying is the first step towards failure. Anyway, Matt Imhof is repeating Clearwater and not looking very good with 9 walks in 10.2 IP so far. The two relievers that saved the game are much better prospects at this point. Kyle Martin leads the FSL in HRs (4) despite batting .188. Malquin Canelo had a big day to bring his season average up to .286.

Greensboro 7, Lakewood 4

Tyler Gilbert - 4.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, HBP, 5 GB, 0 FB
Alejandro Arteaga - 2.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Robert Tasin - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Zachary Coppola - 1 for 4, R, BB, 2 K, SB
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 4, 2 RBI, BB, K
Josh Tobias - 4 for 5, R
Jose Pujols - 1 for 5, R, 3 K
Cornelius Randolph - 1 for 2, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 BB, SB
Emmanuel Marrero - 0 for 5, K
Brendon Hayden - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 4, R, 3 K
Austin Bossart - 0 for 4, K

Tyler Gilbert suffers his first loss of the season after coming off an impressive debut last week. Josh Tobias with his 2nd multi-hit game of the season and has hit safely in 6 of his 8 games played. Cornelius Randolph has been struggling this season, but last night was certainly encouraging. His 3 walks gave him a 3:4 K/BB ratio on the season, but is still batting a disappointing .100/.206/.133 in 30 ABs. There is certainly time for him to turn it around and display what was so promising in the GCL last season.
