Game Thread: Phillies at Reds 4/4/16

Join us as we trudge head on into another season that is sure to be filled with Maikel Franco homers mixed with masochism.

4:10 PM EDT on MLB.TV and CSN

Jeremy Hellickson (0-0) 0.00 ERA

PHILLIES: Hellickson makes the first Opening Day start of his career, based on his experience over Aaron Nola, and because the Phillies would prefer that Nola start on opening day at Citizens Bank Park instead of some dude no one will remember in a year. The Phillies acquired Hellickson in December from Arizona, and they’re hoping he stabilizes a very young rotation.

Raisel Iglesias (0-0) 0.00 ERA

REDS: Despite only 16 Major League starts for his career, Iglesias gets the ball for the opener. He has reported that his shoulder feels strong and that he expects no issues after fatigue bothered him at the end of 2015.
