Erie 8, Reading 3

Nick Pivetta - 5.2 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 HR, WP, HBP, 8 GB, 3 FB
Reinier Roibal - 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 K
Joely Rodriguez - 1.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 K
Tom Windle - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, K, HR
Jesmuel Valentin - 1 for 4, HR, 3 K
Cody Asche - 0 for 3, BB, K
Jorge Alfaro - 2 for 4, HR, K, CS
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, R, 2B, 2 K
Rhys Hoskins - 0 for 4, K
Angelo Mora - 2 for 4, RBI, K, SB
Aaron Brown - 0 for 3

Nick Pivetta earned his 3rd loss in perhaps his worst start of his season. The 6 runs were a season-high and the homeruns were his first given up in his past 3 starts. One of the homeruns was a grandslam in the 6th inning to essentially chase him from the game (he would pitch to one more batter before leaving). Jesmuel Valentin was thrust into the leadoff spot with Roman Quinn missing his second straight game. He hit his first HR of the season in the 3rd inning. No word on Quinn's condition. Jorge Alfaro hit his 3rd HR and increased his season line to .355/.371/.548 in 93 at-bats.

Clearwater 9, Palm Beach 3

Matt Imhof - 4 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 7 BB, 6 K, 2 WP, 4 GB, 1 FB
Yacksel Rios - 2.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 2 K, WP
Alexis Rivero - 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Joey Denato - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Scott Kingery - 1 for 5, K
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 4, 2 R, 2B, HBP
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4
Kyle Martin - 2 for 4, 2 HR, 3 RBI
Zach Green - 1 for 4, R
Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K
Gabriel Lino - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2B, HR, K (throwing error)
Cord Sandberg - 1 for 4
Malquin Canelo - 2 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, CS, picked off

If you enjoy dingers, you were more than likely dazzled by the show put on last night. All 5 of the Threshers homeruns came off the opposing team's starter (Jacob Evans). The HR's were Walding's 7th, Martin's 6th/7th, Lino's 2nd and Canelo's 2nd. They out-hit the opposition 14 to 5. On the pitching side, Matt Imhof wasn't nearly as sharp. Imhof gave up a season-high 7 walks, raising his K/BB to 34:34 in 41.2 innings pitched.

Hagerstown 7, Lakewood 4

Jose Tavares - 6 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, HR, 7 GB, 3 FB
Scott Harris - 2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, K
Robert Tasin - 1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, K, WP
Emmanuel Marrero - 0 for 5, K (fielding and throwing error)
Carlos Duran - 2 for 5, R, 2 K
Josh Tobias - 0 for 4, R, RBI, K, HBP (throwing error)
Jose Pujols - 1 for 5, HR, 3 RBI, 2 K
Wilson Garcia - 2 for 4, 2B, K
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 3, BB, K (passed ball)
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 3, BB
Brendon Hayden - 1 for 4
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB

In three of his four starts this season now, Jose Tavares has been pounded for 12 runs and 17 hits in 16 innings (his 2nd start he threw 7 innings of shutout ball). This was Tavares 3rd recorded loss this season and saw his ERA rise to 3.49. The BlueClaw offense scattered only 2 hits across the first 5 innings while Hagerstown starter Pedro Avila was in the game. With a Jose Pujols three-run HR in the 8th inning, Lakewood closed the scoring to 4-3 entering the 9th. Robert Tasin would dash those hopes, allowing his own 3-spot in the top of the inning. Tasin hasn't been very good this season (4.56 ERA, 30 hits and 11 walks in 23.2 IP). Grullon allowed his 7th passed ball in the game (has played in 18 games total).
