David Buchanan's string of luck ended last night with his 3rd loss of the season. Buchanan holds the odd season line of 48.2 IP, 52 H, 24 ER, 9 BB, 20 K. The offense behind him struck out 10 times and was 1 for 7 with RISP. Cam Perkins hit a solo HR in the 5th, his 3rd longball of the season.
Reading 7, Erie 5 (11 innings)
Anthony Vasquez - 6 IP, 12 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 6 K, HBP, 1 GB, 5 FB
Mario Hollands - 1.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 K
Hoby Milner - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K

Dylan Cozens - 1 for 5, HR, 3 RBI, K
Rhys Hoskins - 1 for 5, 2B, K
Angelo Mora - 2 for 5, HR, 2 RBI
For the second straight game, Reading has walked-off to end the game. Today it was Angelo Mora's turn to deliver the game-winning blast. It was his 3rd HR of the season. Dylan Cozens also had a HR in the game, his 13th this year. That of course leads the entire Eastern League. Cozens season line sits at .279/.351/.587 in 172 at-bats. Jorge Alfaro had another multi-hit game, his 12th in 24 games played.
Brevard County 7, Clearwater 2
Ranfi Casimiro - 4 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, BB, 6 K, HR, 2 WP, HBP, 4 GB, 1 FB
Victor Arano - 3 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, WP
Jesen Therrien - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Scott Kingery - 1 for 5, 2B, RBI, K
Andrew Pullin - 0 for 4
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4
Kyle Martin - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Zach Green - 1 for 3, HR, 2 K, HBP
Mitch Walding - 0 for 4, 2 K (fielding error)
Chace Numata - 1 for 3, BB, 2 K (passed ball)
Cord Sandberg - 1 for 3, R, 2 K, HBP
Malquin Canelo - 0 for 4, K
Despite striking out Brevard County 14 times, the pitching still failed. It was compounded by another uneven start from Casimiro as his margin for error lately hasn't been great. Zach Green launched his 6th HR in this game, a solo-blast in the 6th inning. Kingery laced his league-leading 17th double.
Lakewood 9, Hagerstown 8
Luke Leftwich - 5 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 5 GB, 6 FB
Edgar Garcia - 1.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 0 ER, BB, 2 K, HR
Jacob Waguespack - 2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K
Josh Tobias - 0 for 5, 2 K (fielding error)
Brendon Hayden - 2 for 5, 2B, 2 RBI, K
Jose Pujols - 1 for 4, R, BB, K
Wilson Garcia - 3 for 5, R, 2B, RBI
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 4, 2R, 2B, RBI, BB, 2 K (throwing error)
Austin Bossart - 1 for 3, 2 R, BB, K
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 4, R, SB
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 3, R, 2B, RBI, BB
Venn Biter - 1 for 3, R, BB, picked off (outfield assist, home)
Luke Leftwich gives up a season-high 4 earned runs, but still earns his 4th victory of the season. At this point, I'm not sure Josh Tobias is even playing and it could just be Larry Greene Jr. in a lawn chair out there. Wilson Garcia has been impressive as the full-time DH, hitting .310/.316/.393 in 145 at-bats. He hasn't hit for much power or walked much, but the Ben Revere approached has worked thus far.
