Today's Probables:

LHV: David Buchanan
REA: Ricardo Pinto
CLR: Ranfi Casimiro
LWD: Harold Arauz

Clearwater 3, Bradenton 1

Yacksel Rios - 5.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, HBP, 4 GB, 6 FB
Alexis Rivero - 3.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 2, BB, K
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 4
Scott Kingery - 2 for 4, R, 2B, SB
Kyle Martin - 0 for 3, R, BB, 2 K
Zach Green - 2 for 3, RBI, HBP
Mitch Walding - 0 for 4, 2 K
Malquin Canelo - 3 for 4, 2 RBI, CS
Gabriel Lino - 0 for 3, K
Samuel Hiciano - 1 for 3, K

Yacksel Rios is settling into a starter role rather well. Going into this season, he had 37 starts in 97 appearances. It remains to be seen if he stays in the rotation after healthy bodies make their way back. Alexis Rivero earned his 4th win and lowered his ERA to 1.16. The 21 year old right-handed reliever has 33 strikeouts to 7 walks in 31 innings this season. Scott Kingery laced his league-leading 22nd double in the game. This is 6 more than the 2nd highest. The Threshers are still 3.5 games back of the Tampa Yankees in the standings. Zach Green was hit by a pitch in the 8th inning and was replaced by Derek Campbell as a pinch-runner. I'm curious if this was just a strategic move or if Green was hurt by the pitch.

Lakewood 5, Hagerstown 0

Luke Leftwich - 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 11 K, HBP, 3 GB, 4 FB
Robert Tasin - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K
Zachary Coppola - 1 for 4, R
Jiandido Tromp - 2 for 4, HR, CS
Josh Tobias - 0 for 2, R, BB, K, HBP
Damek Tomscha - 1 for 4, 2 K
Deivi Grullon - 2 for 3, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI, BB, K
Brendon Hayden - 1 for 4
Emmanuel Marrero - 0 for 4, K
Grenny Cumana - 2 for 4, RBI
Carlos Duran - 0 for 4

Luke Leftwich's dominance of the South Atlantic League continues. His start last night improved his record to 6-3 and lowered his ERA/WHIP to 2.15/1.12. He now has 80 strikeouts in 62.2 innings. I wouldn't be shocked to see his promotion to Clearwater as soon as short-season ball begins. Jiandido Tromp has also been on a massive hot-streak. Last night's HR was his 10th of the season and 4th in his last 5 games. The triple slash might not be impressive (.251/.312/.488), but the combination of power and athleticism has always been apparent in the 22 year old Aruba native. Deivi Grullon also homered in the game, launching his 2nd of the season.
