Phillies Minor League Roundup - June 14, 2016

Everybody wins!

Butch Dill-USA TODAY Sports

Today's Probables:

LHV: Anthony Vasquez
REA: Tyler Viza
CLR: Shane Watson
LWD: Franklyn Kilome

Lehigh Valley 7, Gwinnett 6

David Buchanan - 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 2 HR, 9 GB, 3 FB
J.P. Crawford - 1 for 4, R, RBI, BB, SB
Nick Williams - 1 for 2, R, 2B, 3 BB
Andrew Knapp - 0 for 3, 2 R, 2 BB (passed ball)
Brock Stassi - 1 for 5, 2B, 3 RBI
Cam Perkins - 3 for 4, 2B, RBI, K, SB (outfield assist, home)
Darnell Sweeney - 0 for 3, 3 K

David Buchanan escapes an underwhelming start via late-game heroics from the IronPig offense. Down 6-2 entering the bottom of the 9th, LHV would load the bases for Darin Ruf to deliver a 2-run double to cut the lead to 6-4. After walking another batter to load the bases, Brock Stassi would lace a double to right field to clear the bases and win the game. J.P. Crawford now has hits in his last 3 games and his stolen base last night was his 2nd with Lehigh Valley. With another multi-hit night, Cam Perkins improved his line to .316/.359/.494 with 4 HR and 4 SB in 158 at-bats.

Reading 8, Hartford 6

Ricardo Pinto - 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 8 K, HBP, 6 GB, 2 FB
Tom Windle - 0.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, K, HBP
Hoby Milner - 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 2 K, HBP
Miguel Nunez - 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, K, WP
Roman Quinn - 0 for 1, R, BB
Aaron Brown - 0 for 3, K
Jorge Alfaro - 1 for 4, 2 R, RBI, HBP
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, 2 R, BB, K, SB
Rhys Hoskins - 3 for 4, R, 2 2B, HR, 6 RBI, BB, K
Angelo Mora - 1 for 5, R
Osmel Aguila - 1 for 4, K
Harold Martinez - 1 for 3, BB, K

Another ho-hum day from the feared Reading offense. Ricardo Pinto struggled early, giving up all 4 of his runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings before settling down. He improved to 2-2 and now has back-to-back games with 8 strikeouts. Rhys Hoskins is just about one of the hottest hitters in the minors right now. He hit HR number 17 and is batting an insane .465 with 7 HR in his last 10 games. A lot of this is the Reading Effect, but the power is real. Roman Quinn exited the game early after returning from a lengthy 10 day absence.

Clearwater 2, Bradenton 1

Ranfi Casimiro - 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, K, HBP, 14 GB, 4 FB
Will Morris - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Ulises Joaquin - 1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 K
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4, R
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI
Scott Kingery - 1 for 3, R, K, SB, HBP
Kyle Martin - 0 for 1
Derek Campbell - 0 for 3
Zach Green - 0 for 2, 2 HBP
Mitch Walding - 0 for 3, RBI, 2 K
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 4 (throwing error)
Chace Numata - 3 for 3, 2B
Cord Sandberg - 1 for 3, K

Ranfi Casimiro pitched to his 6th win, tied with Tyler Viza (since promoted) and Elniery Garcia for the team-lead. Scott Kingery stole his 15th base in the game. There are only 7 other players in the FSL with more. Kyle Martin left the game early in this one and was replaced by Derek Campbell. No immediate word on the reason.

Lakewood 9, Hagerstown 3

Harold Arauz - 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 3 WP, 7 GB, 1 FB
Luis Morales - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, K, HBP
Jacob Waguespack - 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 K
Zachary Coppola - 2 for 5, R, 2 RBI
Jiandido Tromp - 2 for 5, R, 2B, RBI, K
Josh Tobias - 1 for 5, 3 K
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 3, RBI, 2 BB
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 4, R, RBI, BB, 2 K
Jan Hernandez - 2 for 5, 2 R, K
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 3, R, K, SB (fielding error)
Brendon Hayden - 2 for 2, 2 R, RBI, BB
Carlos Duran - 2 for 4, R, 2B, 3 RBI

Harold Arauz improves to 3-4 and aside from a minor hiccup two weeks ago has been fairly dominant. Jiandido Tromp's multi-hit night extended his hitting streak to 9 games and his 16th double is tied for the team-lead.
