Today's Probables:

LHV: James Russell
REA: Nick Pivetta
CLR: TBD
LWD: Luke Leftwich

Lehigh Valley 3, Gwinnett 0 (7 innings, completed early due to rain)

Ben Lively - 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K, 7 GB, 3 FB
J.P. Crawford - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, K
Nick Williams - 1 for 4, 2 K
Darin Ruf - 2 for 3, 2 R, HR, K
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 3, K, CS, picked off
Cam Perkins - 1 for 3
Darnell Sweeney - 0 for 2, BB, K

Not even the rain could dampen Ben Lively's AAA parade. That is now 3 straight quality starts with LHV in which he has gone 19 innings of 11 hit, 5 earned run ball with 15 strikeouts to only 5 walks. Ben Lively still has a ceiling as a back-end starter in the majors. The offensive highlights included J.P. Crawford's 2nd AAA double and Darin Ruf's 6th HR. After being called out on strikes to end the top of the 6th, Darnell Sweeney was ejected from the game. Andrew Knapp has a 6-game hitting streak.

Reading 2, New Hampshire 1

Mark Leiter - 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 2 K, HR, WP, 7 GB, 4 FB
Joely Rodriguez - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 K
Hoby Milner - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K, HBP
Miguel Nunez - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Jesmuel Valentin - 1 for 4 (fielding error)
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 3, R, BB
Rhys Hoskins - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI
Aaron Brown - 0 for 3, K

Mark Leiter wins his 2nd outing of the season in perhaps the most boring game of the year. Roman Quinn and Jorge Alfaro sit as Reading still manages to beat an opponent. Quinn was sitting out because of a hamstring issue (no word specifically on Alfaro). The lone offensive highlight came via Rhys Hoskins who hit a 2-run double in the 3rd inning to give Reading a 2-0 lead. Miguel Nunez saved his 6th game. Dylan Cozens has an on-base streak of 9 games.

Clearwater, Jupiter (cancelled due to rain)

Lakewood 9, Lexington 5

Tyler Gilbert - 7 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, BB, 9 K, WP, 9 GB, 2 FB
Sutter McLoughlin - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K, HBP
Robert Tasin - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, K
Emmanuel Marrero - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI (fielding error)
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 5 (fielding error)
Josh Tobias - 3 for 5, R, 2 2B, 2 RBI
Jose Pujols - 2 for 5, 2 R, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K
Wilson Garcia - 3 for 3, R, RBI
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 4, R, 2 K
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 4, 2 K
Jiandido Tromp - 2 for 3, 2 R, 3B, BB, 2 SB
Carlos Duran - 1 for 3, 2 R, RBI, BB

Tyler Gilbert won his 3rd game and lowered his ERA under 4.00 (3.99 to be exact). Its 6 straight quality starts for Gilbert who has slowed gotten better as the season has gone on. In 58.2 innings he has struck out 48 and walked 12. Jose Pujols hit his league-leading 10th HR last evening and also pounded his first triple. Jiandido Tromp stole his 8th and 9th bases.
