Mike Schmidt narrates MLB Draft coverage with awesome video

Tonight at 6pm ET, the MLB Network will air the First Year Players Draft. Of course, the Phils have the first pick and all eyes are set on what the Phillies might do.

But for Phils fans who are tuning in, they'll be treated to the best player in the team's history, Mike Schmidt, welcoming viewers shortly before the first picks are made at 7pm with a terrific video that both addresses the group of potential draftees and talks about how baseball can inspire enduring youth.

Of the Draft, Schmidt reads, "We love baseball because it’s a timeline that connects the generations of our lives with checkpoints in between that we remember forever. This is one of them."
