Today's Probables:
CLR: Elniery Garcia
LWD: Franklyn Kilome
WIL: Felix Paulino
Lakewood 6, Hickory 4
Seranthony Dominguez - 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 3 K, HBP, 7 GB, 3 FB
Sutter McLoughlin - 2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 2 K
Zach Morris - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R
Zack Coppola - 0 for 3, R, 2 BB, K
Carlos Duran - 1 for 5, K (outfield assist, home)
Josh Tobias - 3 for 5, R, 2 RBI
Damek Tomscha - 3 for 4, R, 2B, BB
Wilson Garcia - 0 for 4, RBI, BB, K (missed catch error)
Jose Pujols - 1 for 4, RBI, 2 K, CS
Cornelius Randolph - 3 for 4, R, 2 2B
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, K
Emmanuel Marrero - 1 for 4, R, 2 K, SB
After a very poor Lakewood debut, Seranthony Dominguez rebounds nicely. The 21 year old righty out of the Dominican Republic definitely has some definite upside. Cornelius Randolph might be breaking out of his post-injury slump. Randolph has a tremendous bat and great swing and hopefully these types of performances will be a bit more common down the stretch. Deivi Grullon hit a 2-run HR (his 4th of the season) in the top of the 9th to get the 4-run inning started. Josh Tobias would cap it with a two-run single to give the BlueClaws a 6-1 lead, which they would badly need as the Crawdads would stage a late comeback in the bottom of the inning to score 3 runs.
Williamsport 9, Batavia 4
Ranger Suarez - 5 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 3 K, HR, 5 GB, 6 FB
Grant Dyer - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Kenny Koplove - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 K
Carlos Indriago - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB
Jesus Alastre - 4 for 5, R, 2 RBI, CS
Arquimedes Gamboa - 1 for 5, K, SB
David Martinelli - 1 for 5, 2 R, HR, K
Luis Encarnacion - 0 for 5, RBI, 4 K
Enmanuel Garcia - 2 for 5, R, 2B, SB
Gregori Rivero - 2 for 5, 2 K
Chandler Hall - 1 for 4, 2 R, BB, K (throwing error)
Luis Espiritu - 2 for 4, 2 R, 2 K, picked off (two fielding errors)
Juan Luis - 3 for 4, R, 2 RBI, SB
Ranger Suarez didn't have his best stuff last night, but was able to battle and hold on as the Crosscutter offense powered through with 16 hits on the night. Jesus Alastre continues to shine in Williamsport. The 19 year old outfielder (who DH'd last night) is batting .500 (19 for 38) in the early going and is turning a lot of heads. This is certainly something to keep an eye on. 2016 6th round pick, David Martinelli, hit his 3rd HR of the season. Juan Luis' stolen base last night was his 5th.
GCL Yankees West 4, GCL Phillies 3 (11 innings)
Sixto Sanchez - 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, BB, 5 K, WP, 6 GB, 2 FB
Tom Windle - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Kyle Young - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Kale Fultz - 2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, HR
Tyler Frohwirth - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, K, HR
Daniel Brito - 2 for 4, RBI, BB
Mickey Moniak - 0 for 6, 3 K
Josh Stephen - 1 for 5, BB, 2 K
Malvin Matos - 1 for 4, RBI, BB, K
Caleb Eldridge - 0 for 3, RBI, 2 BB, 2 K (fielding error)
Daniel Garner - 1 for 3, K
Rodolfo Duran - 1 for 2, 2B
Cole Stobbe - 2 for 5, R, SB
Ben Pelletier - 0 for 5, R, K
Raul Rivas - 1 for 4, R, K, SB, HBP
With probably the best name in the organization, Sixto Sanchez doesn't disappoint on mound either. In 4 starts this season he has gone: 18 IP, 13 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 19 K. Sanchez is just 17 years old. Tom Windle (you know, the other half of the Jimmy Rollins trade) made a rehab appearance last night. Cole Stobbe has been on fire since a brutal start (0 for 13) and is 8 for his last 18 at-bats. His stolen base last night was his first of the season. Mickey Moniak has his worst day at the plate in his young professional career, but I'm wagering he puts it quickly behind him.
