Last night was pretty awesome, wasn't it? It came almost out of nowhere, Zach Eflin’s dominant performance. It feels just so, so good to see that. With Aaron Nola taking the mound today, hopefully he can get a whiff of what Eflin was huffing last night and turn in the kind of outing we all know he can.
The Pirates are desperately trying to stay within striking distance of the Cardinals in the NL Central. The Phillies are playing for the thrill of it at this point. They need to get Aaron Nola back on track. And if they happen to win in the process, you won't hear me complaining. But this is the fun part of rooting for a going nowhere team when you have a searing hatred for other teams: you can watch your going nowhere team toss a wrench into everyone else's best laid plans.
MWAAAHAHAHAAAA!!!
