MLB Trade Deadline Recap: Felske Files Episode 60

In this episode of The Felske Files, host John Stolnis breaks down an uneventful trade deadline for the Phillies with The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News' Matt Gelb, and talks with former Colorado Rockies GM and MLB Network Analyst Dan O'Dowd about the otherwise-crazy Trade Deadline Monday for everyone else.

This year’s Trade Deadline was super duper quiet for the Phillies and like an air horn on acid for the rest of Major League Baseball.

The Phillies surprisingly did nothing at the deadline, meaning starter Jeremy Hellickson is still with the team. Joining the show this week is beat writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News Matt Gelb to talk about what the Phils did... or didn’t do.

But while the Phillies were silent, the rest of Major League Baseball was not. Former Colorado Rockies general manager and MLB Network Analyst Dan O’Dowd joins the show to talk about all the players that did change teams and offers his insight on the Hellickson situation for the Phils.

Also on this week’s episode:

  • The Phillies DFA Andrew Bailey and call up Luis Garcia... again.
  • Something kinda weird happened in last Saturday’s win against the Atlanta Braves
  • Ken Giles is the Houston Astros new closer!
  • The benefits of win-win trades
  • Stat of the Week
