Today's Probables:

LHV: Phil Klein
REA: John Richy
CLR: TBD
LWD: Harold Arauz
WIL: Adonis Medina

Buffalo 3, Lehigh Valley 2

Nick Pivetta - 4.2 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, HR, WP, 3 GB, 1 FB
J.P. Crawford - 0 for 4, K
Brock Stassi - 1 for 4
Cam Perkins - 2 for 4, 2 R
Jesmuel Valentin - 0 for 3

Nick Pivetta falls to 0-2 and now has back-to-back poor outings, failing to go longer than 5 innings in each. The offense scuffled behind him going 0 for 7 with RISP and leaving 5 on base. Nick Williams was once again held out of the lineup.

Readnig 7, Portland 1

Ricardo Pinto - 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K, 10 GB, 4 FB
Scott Kingery - 0 for 4, R, BB
Jorge Alfaro - 2 for 4, R, 2B, 2 RBI, K
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, 2 RBI
Rhys Hoskins - 0 for 3, R, K, HBP
Mitch Walding - 1 for 3, R, BB, K
Aaron Brown - 0 for 3, R, HBP

Ricardo Pinto's fastball was reportedly hitting 99 last night (gun is a little hot, so think 96-97) and dominated the Portland lineup. The Reading offense did all their damage in the 2nd inning, scoring all 7 of their runs. Jorge Alfaro ripped his 19th double of the season to score two of those runs. This was the first game since August 4th that Dylan Cozens had not had a strikeout in a game. That is...something.

Clearwater, Brevard County (suspended after 1.5 innings due to poor field conditions, will be made up via a doubleheader today, 8/30)

Mahoning Valley 6, Williamsport 5 (10 innings)

Bailey Falter - 3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 GB, 1 FB
Julian Garcia - 3.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
Will Hibbs - 2.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 4 K, HR, HBP
Jonathan Hennigan - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Juan Luis - 2 for 5, R, RBI, 2 K, picked off
Luke Maglich - 1 for 4, R, BB, 2 K, CS
David Martinelli - 1 for 5, HR, 3 RBI, 2 K
Darick Hall - 3 for 4, R
Lucas Williams - 1 for 4, K
Henri Lartigue - 1 for 4, RBI, K (two passed balls)
Enmanuel Garcia - 0 for 4, K
Luis Espiritu - 1 for 4, R, 2B
Evan Rogers - 0 for 4, 2 K

After a 5-inning shutout his last time out, Bailey Falter doesn't make it to the 4th inning. David Martinelli hit his 4th HR of the season, a 3-run blast in the 4th inning. Darick Hall has been hitting the ball well as of late, averaging .417 in his last 10 appearances. Overall he is slashing .282/.369/.488 with 6 HR. He is 21 years old and was the Phillies 14th round pick in the 2016 draft.

GCL Phillies 6, GCL Yankees West 3

Nick Fanti - 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 6 K, 1 GB, 3 FB
Justin Miller - 1.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, HBP
Jhon Nunez - 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, BB, 3 K, WP (throwing error)
Randy Alcantara - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Tyler Frohwirth - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, HBP
Daniel Brito - 2 for 3, R, 2B, RBI, 2 BB
Josh Stephen - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K, picked off (outfield assist, home)
Mickey Moniak - 2 for 5, R, K, SB (outfield assist, 2B)
Danny Zardon - 0 for 3, 2 BB, K
Jhailyn Ortiz - 0 for 5, 3 K
Jose Antequera - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2 2B, BB, SB
Cole Stobbe - 2 for 4, 2 R
Rodolfo Duran - 1 for 4, RBI, K
Ben Pelletier - 1 for 4, RBI, K

Nick Fanti continues to be very good at striking GCL batters out. He has worked his total up to 65 in 51.2 innings this season. The GCL Phillies remain a wonderful combination of being really good and the rest of the league being quite bad. Daniel Brito is putting an exclamation point on his breakout stateside debut. The 18 year old second baseman is slashing .290/.362/.430 with 2 HR and 7 SB in 186 at-bats. Mickey Moniak stole his 10th base on top of his mult-hit day.
