Weekend Probables:

LHV: Anthony Vasquez, Adam Morgan, Ben Lively
REA: Mark Leiter, Ricardo Pinto, Nick Pivetta
CLR: Shane Watson, Drew Anderson, John Richy
LWD: Harold Arauz, Tyler Gilbert, Alberto Tirado
WIL: Cole Irvin, JoJo Romero, Ranger Suarez

Scranton/WB 4, Lehigh Valley 2

David Buchanan - 9 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, 9 GB, 5 FB
J.P. Crawford - 1 for 2, 2 BB
Nick Williams - 1 for 4, HR, 2 K
Brock Stassi - 0 for 3, BB
Darnell Sweeney - 0 for 3, BB, K

Say what you will about David Buchanan, but the kid has been a workhorse this season and in particular his last 5 starts. He'll probably get clobbered when he joins the Phillies when rosters expand, but its nice to see him have some success...somewhere. Nick Williams heard your cries for power and has two HRs in his last 4 games, giving him 12 on the season. With two walks last night, Crawford now has 65 walks to 63 strikeouts in 2016 across two levels.

Reading 12, Bowie 8

Tyler Viza - 4 IP, 13 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 3 K, 3 HR, 4 GB, 4 FB
Jesen Therrien - 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K
Hoby Milner - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Miguel Nunez - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R
Roman Quinn - 1 for 5, R, K
Scott Kingery - 1 for 5
Rhys Hoskins - 2 for 3, 3 R, 2 HR, BB, K, HBP
Dylan Cozens - 3 for 4, 3 R, 3B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, BB (outfield assist, home)
Andrew Pullin - 3 for 4, 3 R, 2B, 2 HR
Mitch Walding - 1 for 3, 2 R, HR, K, HBP (fielding error)
Gabriel Lino - 2 for 4

Your 2016 Reading Fightin Phils, folks. Both teams combined for 10 homeruns last night. Mitch Walding makes his debut with Reading and hits his first. Meanwhile, Rhys Hoskins hit his MiLB-leading 32nd and 33rd. Dylan Cozens wasn't done after 3 HR's yesterday and hit his 31st and 32nd. Andrew Pullin doesn't like to feel left out either, hitting his 6th and 7th. Roman Quinn made his long awaited return from rehab with a hit. Reading, where every night there is a chance for fireworks.

Clearwater 7, Dunedin 6

Luke Leftwich - 5.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 HR, 5 GB, 6 FB
Ulises Joaquin - 1.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, K
Matt Hockenberry - 2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, WP (pickoff error)
Zack Coppola - 2 for 4, R, K, SB
Josh Tobias - 1 for 4, BB, K, CS
Carlos Tocci - 2 for 3, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB
Kyle Martin - 1 for 3, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, BB
Chace Numata - 1 for 4
Zach Green - 1 for 5, RBI, 3 K
Derek Campbell - 0 for 3, BB, K
Malquin Canelo - 2 for 4, RBI
Cord Sandberg - 1 for 3, 2 R, BB

Luke Leftwich was having a fine game before letting up 4 runs in the top of the 4th inning. He did leave the game with the win in line. Up 6-4 in the top of the 9th, Matt Hockenberry would have a rare meltdown that allowed Dunedin to tie the game up. Carlos Tocci would work a lead-off walk in the bottom of the 9th. Two outs later, Zach Green delivered a groundball single to score Tocci and win the game. Kyle Martin's HR in the 3rd was his 14th of the season. Zack Coppola makes his Clearwater debut a steals his first base. Malquin Canelo has been red hot at the plate with a 4-game hitting streak (7 hits in that stretch).

Hagerstown 8, Lakewood 6 (10 innings)

Jose Tavares - 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 K, 4 GB, 3 FB
Edgar Garcia - 1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB
Zach Morris - 2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 0 ER, HBP (throwing error)
Sutter McLoughlin - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Mark Laird - 2 for 4, 2 R, BB
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 4, R, RBI, BB
Cornelius Randolph - 0 for 2
Jan Hernandez - 0 for 3, RBI
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 5, 3 RBI (throwing error)
Jose Pujols - 3 for 5, HR
Wilson Garcia - 1 for 5, K
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 5, 2B, 2 K (throwing error)
Carlos Duran - 1 for 5, R, K
Emmanuel Marrero - 2 for 3, R, BB, K

Believe it or not, Jose Tavares has had a really good season. He's gotten hurt a bit by the long ball, but the 118 strikeouts to 15 walks in 105.1 innings is really impressive. At 22 and "dominating" the level, he could be in line for a promotion before season's end. Lakewood was able to battle back with a 4-run inning in the 8th to tie the game and force extra innings before a rare Zach Morris disappointment. Jose Pujols hit his 20th HR of the season. Cornelius Randolph left the game early and I have yet to see anything on Twitter to suggest what it could have been.

Staten Island 5, Williamsport 3

Adonis Medina - 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 HR, 8 GB, 5 FB
Carlos Indriago - 2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, K, WP
Tyler Hallead - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Juan Luis - 0 for 5, 3 K
Lucas Williams - 1 for 4
David Martinelli - 1 for 3, R, BB, 2 K (outfield assist, 2B)
Darick Hall - 1 for 2, R, 2 BB, CS (fielding error)
Gregori Rivero - 1 for 4, R, 2B, K (throwing error)
Luke Maglich - 1 for 3, 2B, RBI, BB, SB
Luis Encarnacion - 0 for 4, RBI
Chandler Hall - 1 for 4
Luis Espiritu - 1 for 3, BB

Adonis Medina falls to 4-2 as he gives up a season-high 4 runs. The Crosscutter offense falls flat again, going 0 for 7 with RISP and leaving 7 on. Williamsport has lost 3 in a row. Luke Maglich stole his 5th base.

GCL Braves 6, GCL Phillies 1

Luis Carrasco - 2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, WP, 4 GB, 0 FB (throwing error)
Randy Alcantara - 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Justin Miller - 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, K
Oskerlly Sanchez - 2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 2 K
Jhon Nunez - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Daniel Brito - 1 for 5, K
Aaron Brown - 1 for 3
Ben Pelletier - 1 for 2, RBI
Mickey Moniak - 1 for 4, HBP
Jhailyn Ortiz - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Danny Zardon - 1 for 4, K
Josh Stephen - 0 for 3, BB, K
Jose Antequera - 2 for 4, SB (fielding error)
Daniel Garner - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, 2 K
Raul Rivas - 1 for 4, K

Despite only allowing 1 ER, Carrasco committed the error and wild pitch that led to the 4 unearned runs. Mickey Moniak has an 8-game hitting streak and is batting .324 in his last 10 games.
