It's time to start playing actual baseball games again.
After a long winter of bad NFL games, a Sixers implosion in February and a Flyers season that doesn't have anyone excited, the Phillies have an opportunity to grab the spotlight for a little while and remind everyone how much fun baseball can be.
That all starts this weekend as the Phils begin their Grapefruit League schedule against the Yankees. Joining me to talk about the first couple weeks of spring training is Phillies beat writer from The Morning Call, Stephen Gross.
Also, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred went nuclear on the player's union this week after the players refused to implement rules changes like changing the size of the strike zone and pitch clocks. SB Nation's Grant Brisbee joins the show to talk about the changes Manfred wants to make and whether they'll actually help.
Plus, I talk about the Brian Bannister Effect and how the Phillies are hoping it will help Clay Buchholz be better in 2017, as does former Phil Kyle Kendrick, who is trying to resurrect his career with Boston with the help of their assistant pitching coach.
And MLB.com has released their top 10 Phils prospects... our Stat of the Week will have something to do with that.
