It’s almost over.

So last night, when I said in the game thread that maybe Clay Buchholz would give me a reason to look forward to his starts? I didn’t mean for him to not actually make them. Though his injury does solve the problem of me not watching him, I don’t want him to be injured. I’d rather him be healthy and good! That doesn’t seem to be in the cards for ol’ Clay.

But enough about last night’s pile-of-steaming-garbage game. Let’s get to tonight’s not-yet-good-or-bad game!

Today's Lineups

NEW YORK METS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Michael Conforto - CF Cesar Hernandez - 2B
Asdrubal Cabrera - SS Howie Kendrick - LF
Yoenis Cespedes - LF Odubel Herrera - CF
Jay Bruce - RF Maikel Franco - 3B
Neil Walker - 2B Michael Saunders - RF
Lucas Duda - 1B Tommy Joseph - 1B
Jose Reyes - 3B Cameron Rupp - C
Travis d'Arnaud - C Freddy Galvis - SS
Zack Wheeler - RHP Vince Velasquez - RHP

Oh Vinny. Vinny Velasquez. Man of a million strikeouts and a million pitches. That’s his problem, he can strike a ton of guys out but he needs eight zillion pitches to do it. Let’s hope he’s a little more productive tonight.

Discuss the game in the comments below, and don’t hide your excitement about this dreadful Mets series coming to an end.
