Today’s Probables:

Columbus 3, Lehigh Valley 1
Cesar Ramos - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 K, 6 GB, 2 FB
Roman Quinn - 0 for 3, BB, K
J.P. Crawford - 1 for 4, SB
Jorge Alfaro - 0 for 4
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 4, 3 K
Rhys Hoskins - 2 for 4, HR
Nick Williams - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Cam Perkins - 0 for 3, BB
Jesmuel Valentin - 0 for 3
Cesar Ramos fills in admirably with a spot start in the rotation, but our old friend Adam Morgan blew the game by allowing a 3-spot in the 6th inning. J.P. Crawford with a hit and stolen base (his first)! Rhys Hoskins hit his 5th HR of the season and first since April 19th. Jorge Alfaro saw the end of a modest 4-game hitting streak.
Reading 4, Harrisburg 2
Tom Eshelman - 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 6 K, HR, 4 GB, 2 FB
Scott Kingery - 0 for 4, K
Andrew Pullin - 0 for 4 (outfield assist, 2B)
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 4, K
Kyle Martin - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Chace Numata - 1 for 4, K
Mitch Walding - 0 for 3, R, BB
Aaron Brown - 1 for 3, HR (fielding error)
Angelo Mora - 0 for 2, R, BB
Tom Eshelman doubles down on both the mound and the plate with a impressive victory. Eshelman threw 58 of his 81 pitches for strikes and in the 5th inning, hit a 3-run HR to give the Fightins a 3-1 lead. Aaron Brown added his 1st HR of the season. It was one of those weird games that Reading was able to pull off despite being out-hit (7 to 4) and having just two runners in scoring position all game.
Clearwater 7, Tampa 5
Jose Tavares - 6 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 5 K, WP, 4 GB, 4 FB
Edgar Garcia - 1.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 K, HR
Jeff Singer - 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K, WP
Mark Laird - 2 for 4, 3 R, K
Herlis Rodriguez - 4 for 5, 2 R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 5, 2 RBI
Wilson Garcia - 1 for 5, RBI
Jose Pujols - 1 for 5, 3 K
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 5, K (passed ball)
Drew Stankiewicz - 0 for 4, 2 K, HBP
Zach Coppola - 2 for 5, R, K
Emmanuel Marrero - 3 for 5, R, 2 K (fielding error)
Jose Tavares earns win number 3, Jeff Singer picks up his 5th save and Edgar Garcia made an easy win for the Threshers more interesting. Herlis Rodriguez is just destroying the Florida State League in the early going. Saddled with injuries and loss of playing time last season, his outstanding 2015 with Lakewood was looking like a mirage. Now fully healthy, Rodriguez is slashing .364/.426/.727 with 4 HR and 2 SB in 55 at-bats. Can he keep this up? Who knows, but it’s exciting to see nonetheless.
Delmarva 2, Lakewood 1 (GM1 of doubleheader, 7 innings)
Lakewood 5, Delmarva 0 (GM2 of doubleheader, makeup of 4/25 ppd, 7 innings)
JoJo Romero - 6 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, BB, 5 K, WP, 8 GB, 4 FB
Ranger Suarez - 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 9 K, 10 GB, 1 FB
Daniel Brito - 2 for 7, K
Luke Williams - 0 for 7, 3 K
Mickey Moniak - 2 for 7, R, K
Brett Barbier - 1 for 3, 2B, K
Alex Wojciechowski - 2 for 3, R
Cord Sandberg - 2 for 7, RBI, K
David Martinelli - 1 for 3, R, 2B, 2 RBI, K
Danny Zardon - 1 for 5, R, RBI, BB
Edgar Cabral - 0 for 3, K
Henri Lartigue - 1 for 3, R, BB
Carlos Duran - 1 for 2, R, SB
Jose Antequera - 1 for 5, RBI, K (two throwing errors)
The BlueClaws are able to hold the Shorebirds to just 4 hits in two games where both of their starters go the distance. Ranger Suarez follows up his 7 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, BB, 10 K performance last week with arguably an even better one. Romero doesn’t fare so bad himself (despite the loss) and adds to his season line of 19.2 IP, 16 H, 6 ER, 8 BB, 23 K. Moniak seems to be doing okay after sitting out a couple games with a sore finger. He capped off the doubleheader by going 2 for 4 in the second game.
