Game Thread 4/27: Marlins at Phillies

I’d like to begin today’s game thread by confirming to you all that last night’s game definitely happened. Maikel Franco hit a grand slam, Michael Saunders hit a second-deck home run, Vince Velasquez had a more-than-decent outing, and a good time was had by all.

I’m confirming that because this team doesn’t always feel real. Sometimes it feels like this is all happening to another team and other fans. But it’s not! It is real, it’s happening to us, and we deserve it.

Hoo boy, is that ever a day-game-after-night-game lineup. But this is an opportunity for Andrew Knapp and Brock Stassi to get some hits, or at least a few at-bats strung together in game form.
