So for the Phillies, tonight’s goal is simple: be better than you were on Thursday. Be better than you were on Wednesday. And so on and so forth. I know that seems like an incredibly tall order, but I think it’s possible. Give up fewer runs. Just a few less. Don’t give up all the runs. Just a few of them. Oh God please. Please please please.

Nick Pivetta, our sanity is in your hands. I know that’s scary, but I trust you. The Phillies have had a few days off, and they’re fully rested, so maybe we’ll see a little magic tonight. And in this case, magic means “sucking marginally less.”
