Today’s Probables:

LHV: Mark Appel
REA: Shane Watson
CLR: Alberto Tirado
LWD: Ranger Suarez

Lehigh Valley 11, Rochester 8 (11 innings)

Ricardo Pinto - 3 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 4 ER, BB, K, 3 GB, 2 FB (pickoff error)
Roman Quinn - 4 for 6, 4 R, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, K
J.P. Crawford - 3 for 5, 2 R, 4 RBI, BB, 2 K (throwing error)
Jorge Alfaro - 0 for 5, 2 RBI, 3 K
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 6, RBI, 4 K (outfield assist, home)
Rhys Hoskins - 2 for 5, 2B, HR
Nick Williams - 2 for 4, HR, BB, K

This is your weekly reminder that Ricardo Pinto probably isn’t good! If Drew Anderson and/or Brandon Leibrandt have continued success down in AA, I could see Pinto making the transition to the pen. Overall this was a pretty crazy game. The IronPigs were down 8-4 to start the fourth, but mashed their way to tie the game. Quinn (1), Hoskins (10) and Williams (3) all with homers in the game. Hoskins’ solo in the 8th tied the game. Alert! This was J.P. Crawford’s first back-to-back multi-hit games of the season.

Reading 14, Erie 4

John Richy - 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 2 K, HR, 7 GB, 2 FB
Scott Kingery - 3 for 6, 2 R, 2B, HR
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, BB, K, SB (fielding error)
Carlos Tocci - 2 for 5, 2 R, 2 2B, 3 K
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 3, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB
Chace Numata - 2 for 5, R
Kyle Martin - 2 for 4, 2 R, BB
Angelo Mora - 1 for 4, R, RBI, BB, K
Mitch Walding - 1 for 5, HR, 3 RBI, 2 K
Aaron Brown - 2 for 5, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, K

Sometimes things just click. Reading exploded for 16 hits and everyone had a base hit (woohoo!). Canelo (1), Kingery (9), Walding (5) and Brown (2) all went yard in the game. John Richy didn’t have to do much, but picked up his 1st win in his 2nd start of the season.

Fort Myers 3, Clearwater 1

Cole Irvin - 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, HR, 7 GB, 2 FB
Ranfi Casimiro - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Zach Coppola - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB
Herlis Rodriguez - 0 for 3
Damek Tomscha - 0 for 4, RBI, K
Wilson Garcia - 1 for 4
Jose Pujols - 0 for 4, K
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 3, K
Mark Laird - 0 for 3
Grenny Cumana - 0 for 2, BB, CS
Emmanuel Marrero - 1 for 3, K

And sometimes things aren’t clicking. Clearwater has struggled a bit in the month of May, going 6-10 through yesterday’s game. Cole Irvin took the loss, his 4th, despite holding a 2.14 ERA in 42 innings this season (31 K to 7 BB). The offense behind him combined for only 4 hits and went 0 for 5 with RISP. Zach Coppola is on a hot streak at the plate, batting .390 in his last 10.
