MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Texas Rangers Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier, the Phillies Twitter account posted this.

“Deep in the Heart of Texas” is a sweet little ditty (and I mean that with respect, it’s a fun song), and appropriate for such a picture in the most literal sense, as the Phillies are geographically in the heart of Texas. But I have another suggestion.

WE’VE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE, IF IT’S THE LAST THING WE EVER DO.

SERIOUSLY LET’S LEAVE TEXAS NOW AND NEVER COME BACK.

Sadly, there’s no leaving Texas, at least until the Phillies have played their game today.

Today's Lineups

PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES TEXAS RANGERS
Cesar Hernandez - 2B Shin-Soo Choo - DH
Odubel Herrera - CF Elvis Andrus - SS
Aaron Altherr - LF Nomar Mazara - RF
Tommy Joseph - 1B Robinson Chirinos - C
Andres Blanco - 3B Rougned Odor - 2B
Michael Saunders - RF Ryan Rua - 1B
Maikel Franco - DH Joey Gallo - 3B
Andrew Knapp - C Jared Hoying - CF
Freddy Galvis - SS Delino DeShields Jr. - LF
Nick Pivetta - RHP Martin Perez - LHP

I’ve been searching my soul for something uplifting to say. I don’t want to be all gloom and doom just because the Phillies have gotten their asses kicked by the Rangers two nights in a row. But the best I’ve come up with is this: Let’s get this over with.

And now, guided by those inspiring words, please discuss the game in the comments below.
