Game Thread 5/26: Reds at Phillies

I’m having bad flashbacks to early April.

The last time the Phillies played the Reds, it was opening week. The Phillies were a different team. Different in that they were several months younger than they are now. Because if you’re looking at playing level, right now they’re pretty much where they were then.

The Reds, on the other hand, spent some time in first, and have come back down to Earth. Joey Votto, though is still amazing. I wonder if he’ll toll someone this time! I hope so. Votto’s troll game is a gift, and we’d be lucky if he chose to bestow it on our fanbase.

Today's Lineups

CINCINNATI REDS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Billy Hamilton - CF Odubel Herrera - CF
Zack Cozart - SS Andres Blanco - 2B
Joey Votto - 1B Aaron Altherr - LF
Adam Duvall - LF Tommy Joseph - 1B
Eugenio Suarez - 3B Michael Saunders - RF
Scott Schebler - RF Maikel Franco - 3B
Jose Peraza - 2B Cameron Rupp - C
Devin Mesoraco - C Freddy Galvis - SS
Tim Adleman - RHP Aaron Nola - RHP

I think everyone thought that Odubel Herrera would be riding the pine today after his five strikeout day yesterday. But he’s actually batting first today. And you know what? I love that. Pete Mackanin has faith in Herrera, and this is how he’s showing it. I love it.
