Game Thread 5/3: Phillies at Cubs

New day, new game.

Welcome to game 3 of 4 of this series with the Chicago Cubs! The Phillies have won one, and they’ve lost one. It would be nice if they could win tonight, which would ensure nothing less than a split series. Against the Cubs, that would be a win. Hell, not getting swept would be a win. Please not that.

Let’s see who we’ll be watching tonight.

Along with Jerad Eickhoff, we get Brock Stassi and Andrew Knapp instead of Tommy Joseph and Cameron Rupp. And you know what? I’m fine with that. Stassi and Knapp both need opportunities to play. And anything we can do to see less of Cameron Rupp behind the plate, the better.

The Phillies are facing Jake Arrieta tonight, so they’ll need a lot of luck. Send them good vibes, and discuss the game in the comments below.
