Woof, Jake Thompson. In his last two starts he has given up 22 hits and 10 earned runs in 10.1 innings. That J.P. Crawford kid is now hitting .289 in his last 10 games, which includes 8 walks to just 4 strikeouts. He has 4 straight multi-hit games. Cam Perkins mashed his 5th HR last night playing CF for Roman Quinn last night.

Malquin Canelo - 0 for 4, 2 K (fielding error)
When Drew Anderson has been on this season...he’s been on. His 8 strikeouts last night were his second most in a game this season and was able to lower his ERA to 4.59. There is still some back of the rotation promise for Anderson if he remains consistent (which he obviously hasn’t yet). The three constants of the offense (Kingery, Tocci, Pullin) all had multi-hit nights and are batting .310 or higher on the season. Collectively though, the offense went 1 for 7 with RISP and left 6 on-base. Former top prospect Mike Olt delivered the death blow in the top of the 11th with a two-run HR.
Florida 4, Clearwater 1
Cole Irvin - 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 5 K, 5 GB, 7 FB
Luke Leftwich - 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R
Matt Hockenberry - 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, K
Zach Coppola - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Cornelius Randolph - 2 for 4
Deivi Grullon - 2 for 4, R, 2B
Jose Pujols - 0 for 3, 2 K
Herlis Rodriguez - 1 for 3, 2B, BB
Grenny Cumana - 0 for 3, BB, CS
Cole Irvin takes the hard-luck loss despite a quality start. He was obliterated in his last start giving up 8 hits, 6 runs and issuing 3 walks in 3 innings. After a slow start, Cornelius Randolph seems to be on the track back to respectability. He is batting .306 in his last 10 games. Jose Pujols is trending the other way; his average is down to .189 and he has 78 strikeouts in 159 at-bats.
Lakewood 7, Greensboro 3
Ranger Suarez - 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K, HR, 7 GB, 3 FB
Trevor Bettencourt - 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 5 K
Daniel Brito - 1 for 3, 2 R, 3 BB, K
Arquimedes Gamboa - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, 2 BB
Mickey Moniak - 1 for 5, 2 R, HR, BB
Darick Hall - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, BB, K
Brett Barbier - 2 for 4, 2 R, 2 K, HBP
Cord Sandberg - 2 for 5, R, 2B, RBI, K
Henri Lartigue - 1 for 5, 2 RBI (passed ball)
Luke Williams - 1 for 4, K, SB, HBP
Carlos Duran - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K
Ranger Suarez gets his 4th win despite an uncharacteristic 4 walks. Mickey Moniak belted his 2nd HR of the season. Though he is batting just .167 in his last 10 games, Daniel Brito has a 4 game hitting streak with 4 walks.
