GameThread 5/7: Nationals at Phillies

This will be the last time we see the Nats in Philly until September. Good riddance....

Win, you must.
Win, you must.

Guh, can this series just end already?

Here's your lineups:

Today's Lineups

WASHINGTON NATIONALS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Trea Turner - SS Cesar Hernandez - 2B
Jayson Werth - LF Daniel Nava - LF
Daniel Murphy - 2B Odubel Herrera - CF
Anthony Rendon - 3B Maikel Franco - 3B
Adam Lind - 1B Michael Saunders - RF
Chris Heisey - RF Tommy Joseph - 1B
Michael Taylor - CF Freddy Galvis - SS
Jose Lobaton - C Andrew Knapp - C
Tanner Roark - RHP Jeremy Hellickson - RHP

No Bryce Harper again. He's probably just resting for all the games he'll play here in 2019 and on. Also, the Phillies are celebrating Mother's Day today, and that's awesome. I mean, look at this cool giveaway that you can get if you are going:

It's always nice when the leagues salute parents. Lord knows, they've earned it with all of the miles they drove to help these guys attain their goals.

Anyway, to the game. Jeremy Hellickson is coming off his worst outing of the season (six runs on eight hits in only four innings), so he'll be looking to bounce back. No Aaron Altherr today (sore wrist), which stinks, but in the long run, the team needs him to be healthy, so sitting this one out and getting an off day tomorrow will be good for him. Chances are he'll be back against the Mariners. Other than that, today's goals are (not necessarily in order):

  1. Win.
  2. Figure out how to get Ryan Zimmerman out. (ed. note: Zimmerman is out today. That was easy)

Dude has been crazy hot lately, so Hellickson and co. have their work cut out for them.

Finally, if today's game gets bad, just remember: they aren't the Mets.

See you in the comments!
