Tom Eshelman with the complete game shutout...and taking on AAA with relative ease (1.40 ERA in 38.2 IP). On the season, between two levels, he has 47 strikeouts to just 9 walks in 67.2 innings. Roman Quinn remains missing from the lineup; the last game he played was Sunday, May 28th. Crawford’s 4 game hitting streak came to an end, but he added two walks to his league-leading 32 free passes. Hoskins has his first multi-hit game since 5/24 and Cozens has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games.

Reading 6, Portland 2 (GM1 of DH, 7 innings)
Reading 4, Portland 3 (GM2 of DH, 13 innings, makeup of 5/13 ppd)

Tyler Viza - 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 5 K, HR, WP, 5 GB, 5 FB
John Richy - 4 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 K, WP, 3 GB, 3 FB
Scott Kingery - 1 for 7, 2B, 2 BB, K
Carlos Tocci - 2 for 9, CS
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 8, 2 R, 2B, HR, HBP

Mitch Walding - 3 for 8, 3 R, 2B, 3B, HR, 3 K
Malquin Canelo - 2 for 2, 2B, RBI, CS

Reading sweeps the doubleheader (they haven’t been good lately)! Tyler Viza has strung together two quality starts in a row for the first time this season. The first game saw a bunch of homers from: Tromp (4 & 5), Walding (6) and Martin (8). Andrew Pullin was the walk-off hero in GM2 with his 12th HR to end the game.

Clearwater 9, Florida 5

Alberto Tirado - 5 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 4 K, HR, WP, HBP
Harold Arauz - 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Jeff Singer - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Zach Coppola - 3 for 4, R, 2B, 3B
Mark Laird - 2 for 5, 2 R, 2B, 3 RBI
Damek Tomscha - 1 for 3, 2 R, 2B, BB, K, HBP (throwing error)
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 5, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 K
Cornelius Randolph - 2 for 4, RBI
Herlis Rodriguez - 1 for 3, R, 2B, RBI, 2 BB (fielding error)
Drew Stankiewicz - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K
Austin Bossart - 1 for 3, R, BB
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 3, R, BB, SB

Alberto Tirado hung tough against Braves prospect Touki Toussaint, but wound up with the no decision. With the 3-hit day, Zach Coppola raised his season average to .350. Look out! Cornelius Randolph is finding himself at the plate and is batting .291/.323/.400 in his last 15 games. The power isn’t there yet, but finding hits has been a struggle in the early months for the 19 year old.

Greensboro 8, Lakewood 3

Adonis Medina - 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, WP, HBP, 6 GB, 3 FB
Ismael Cabrera - 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, HR, HBP
Daniel Brito - 0 for 4
Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 4 (fielding error)
Mickey Moniak - 0 for 2, 2 R, 2 BB, K
Darick Hall - 2 for 3, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, BB, K (fielding error)
Henri Lartigue - 1 for 4, 2B
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 4, K
Edgar Cabral - 0 for 3, BB (throwing error)
Raul Rivas - 1 for 4, K
David Martinelli - 0 for 3

Adonis Medina took his 5th loss of the season and is struggling to find the success he had earlier in the season (the 20 walks in 47.1 innings isn’t good!). The offense didn’t have much yesterday afternoon outside of a 2-run HR from Darick Hall, his 6th of the season. The rest of the game they were 0 for 3 with RISP and left 5 on base. In May, Daniel Brito has slashed .162/.231/.232 in 99 at-bats. This has been quite the slump for the promising second baseman.
