Game Thread 6/14: Red Sox at Phillies

Oh good, the Red Sox again.

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Boston Red Sox Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

The home and home series continues today with the Red Sox coming to see the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. And that’s about all the excitement I can muster, because these two teams have played some exceedingly boring baseball lately. Or maybe it’s frustrating baseball, because the Phillies haven’t been able to score much, and neither have the Red Sox.

Maybe a change of venue will help things along.

Today's Lineups

BOSTON RED SOX PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Mookie Betts - RF Odubel Herrera - CF
Dustin Pedroia - 2B Howie Kendrick - 2B
Xander Bogaerts - SS Aaron Altherr - RF
Andrew Benintendi - LF Tommy Joseph - 1B
Hanley Ramirez - 1B Maikel Franco - 3B
Jackie Bradley - CF Daniel Nava - LF
Pablo Sandoval - 3B Cameron Rupp - C
Sandy Leon - C Freddy Galvis - SS
Brian Johnson - LHP Jeremy Hellickson - RHP

At this point, the absence of Michael Saunders is a blessing and a relief.

Can Jeremy Hellickson find a pitching performance that will redeem him? Can he follow in Ben Lively’s footsteps and deliver something non-sucky? Will Odubel Herrera and Maikel Franco and Howie Kendrick stay hot? Will Freddy Galvis continue fail to get a hit with the bases loaded? Those questions, and more, will be answered during tonight’s contest.
