Game Thread 6/15 — Red Sox at Phillies

Soon it will be over.

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Philadelphia Phillies Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

If you, like me, have been wondering when and if this home and home series would ever end, I have good news for you: it ends tonight. This is the last time the Phillies will face the Red Sox this year. This series is a scant nine innings from being over, heaven willing.

Let there be celebration and dancing throughout the land.

Today's Lineups

BOSTON RED SOX PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Mookie Betts - RF Odubel Herrera - CF
Dustin Pedroia - 2B Howie Kendrick - 2B
Xander Bogaerts - SS Aaron Altherr - RF
Mitch Moreland - 1B Tommy Joseph - 1B
Andrew Benintendi - LF Maikel Franco - 3B
Jackie Bradley - CF Daniel Nava - LF
Pablo Sandoval - 3B Freddy Galvis - SS
Sandy Leon - C Andrew Knapp - C
Chris Sale - LHP Nick Pivetta - RHP

Truly, I just want the series to be over. I could say something here about Aaron Altherr continuing his solid recent performance, or Odubel Herrera climbing out of another slump, but I just want it to be over. I could hope for a win, but I worry that if I do that, the two teams will play far into the night, and none of us want that. No more Phillies-Red Sox baseball. Please no.
