Ah, Curses: Diamondbacks 5 - Phillies 4

Arizona Diamondbacks v Philadelphia Phillies
This is all your fault Cormican

Hey, we need someone to cover the game tonight. Oh, sure, I can do that. I only went o-fer the year a couple seasons ago. There was a lot of therapy. I even wrote a whole series of old timey recaps I never published to create a backstory. Clearly they couldn’t still lose. They’ve been playing better, I’d be safe.

I mean they have been playing better. Nola didn’t pitch all that bad (compared to my storied history of shitshow recaps) and in spite of Ty Kelly the offense score enough to almost win (please refer to aforementioned shitshow history). The Phillies even had a brief lead thanks to a Mikael Franco 2-run double in the 6th. That gave the Phillies a 4-2 lead.

Sadly Nola stayed in the oven a tad bit too long and gave up 3 runs before getting an out. Meanwhile Benoit and Neshek came in and improved their trade value very slightly. Unfortunately after giving up the lead the Offense kinda gave up too. Herrera had gotten a single, triple and 2 runs scored before losing the lead. Afterwards, just a K. Franco had that RBI Double. After, K. Cameron Rupp homered, then K’d.

Just when you thought that the curse would end in it’s third year, it lives. It turns out that perhaps the collapse of the Phillies wasn’t the fault of years of bad Marti Wolever drafts or poor Free Agent signings or weird coaching decisions. It’s pretty much just me.
