Game Thread 6/17: Diamondbacks at Phillies

Could last night’s tough loss lead to today’s excellent win?

MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at Philadelphia Phillies Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Tough losses are the worst. The Phillies could have pulled out a win, but that’s not how it shook out last night. That seventh inning was rough.

Hopefully, they’re feeling confident today as they approach game two of their three-game series.

Jerad Eickhoff starts today’s game, and he had a decent start last time out. The Phillies offense will have to work even harder today, though. They’re not facing a guy like Patrick Corbin, who isn’t doing so hot. They’re facing Zach Godley, who started out as an injury fill-in for the D-backs but has become part of their rotation. His 2.44 ERA kind of says it all.
