Game Thread 6/20: Cardinals at Phillies

Winning is overrated!

MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at Philadelphia Phillies Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Who needs winning? I don’t! I certainly don’t need the Phillies to win a game, no siree Bob! And this definitely isn’t reverse psychology, nope not at all!

(You think it’ll work?) (Probably not.)

Today's Lineups

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Matt Carpenter - 1B Odubel Herrera - CF
Dexter Fowler - CF Howie Kendrick - 2B
Stephen Piscotty - RF Aaron Altherr - RF
Jedd Gyorko - 3B Tommy Joseph - 1B
Yadier Molina - C Maikel Franco - 3B
Aledmys Diaz - SS Daniel Nava - LF
Tommy Pham - LF Andrew Knapp - C
Paul DeJong - 2B Freddy Galvis - SS
Mike Leake - RHP Jeremy Hellickson - RHP

Mike Leake is having himself a season. He’s got a 3.14 ERA and the best strikeout numbers of his career. That’s a helluva brick wall for the Phillies to walk into again. They lost all three games against the Cards last week, and it was not fun. The Phillies need to win a game again, but it doesn’t seem likely that tonight will be that night.

But still, you never know. Jeremy Hellickson might have something up his sleeve. And Tommy Joseph has a 14-game hitting streak. You never know.
