Lehigh Valley vs. Buffalo - Postponed due to rain
Reading vs. Bowie - Postponed due to rain
Clearwater 6 - Charlotte 1
Alberto Tirado - 7.0 IP, 5 H, R, ER, BB, 6 K, HR, 11 GB, 3 FB
Herlis Rodriguez - 0 for 3, K
Cornelius Randolph - 0 for 3, BB, R
Deivi Grullon - 3 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, CS
Grenny Cumana - 3 for 4, 2 R, K, throwing Error
Cord Sandberg - 2 for 3, 2B, RBI, R
Grullon was the hero in this game with a 2 run homer in the Fourth, which was enough to hold off the team who shortened their city’s name. The most interesting thing is that all that Offense occured with 2 Outs, which is so much worse for the team on the wrong end. Peter Bourjos scored the lone run for Charlotte on a Home Run. Dr. Jekyl Tirado showed up for this game and if he put up that line all the time, he’d be a star.
Lakewood 1 - Kannapolis 2
Ranger Suarez - 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 9 K, 7GB, 2 FB
Arquimedes Gamboa - 1 for 7, 3 K, 2 throwing Errors, cause why not?
Mickey Moniak - 1 for 7, K
Darick Hall - 1 for 5, 4 K
Luke Williams - 1 for 6, K, SB
Emmanuel Garcia - 3 for 6, 2 2B, R
Emmanuel Garcia was all the Offense Ranger needed. Unfortunately, the Bullpen needed a little more. I’m struggling with the fact that Arquimedes could not get the proper angle on his throws to First. That just seems wrong. The Offense took the night off, but Ranger Suarez was absolutely dealing. A good night for Minor League Pitching, even if there weren’t many of them.
