Vince Velasquez is back!

It’s Vince Velasquez day! Today is the day that Vince Velasquez is back with the Phillies after a long-ish stint on the disabled list. Whoopee!

Of course, I’m not sure it’s a great idea to expect too much from him. He was having control issues before he got injured, and it’s been quite awhile since he’s pitched in the majors. But I will always hope for the best when it comes to Vince Velasquez, just like most of the Phillies.

Who will be backing him up today? Let’s see.

Today's Lineups

PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES MIAMI MARLINS
Cesar Hernandez - 2B Dee Gordon - 2B
Freddy Galvis - SS Giancarlo Stanton - RF
Nick Williams - RF Christian Yelich - CF
Tommy Joseph - 1B Marcell Ozuna - LF
Maikel Franco - 3B Justin Bour - 1B
Odubel Herrera - CF J.T. Realmuto - C
Cameron Rupp - C Derek Dietrich - 3B
Cameron Perkins - LF J.T. Riddle - SS
Vince Velasquez - RHP Adam Conley - LHP

We’ve got the old gang, mostly. Cam Perkins is in left, Cesar Hernandez is at second (yay!), Nick Williams is in right, and so on. The only thing I have quibble with is Cameron Rupp catching, because I’m ready to be done with Cameron Rupp. He seems like a super great dude, and he’s got some really beefy arms, but I’m pretty ready to see him a lot less. But it’s a small price to pay to see Vince Velasquez again.
