Lehigh Valley 12, Durham 6

Jake Thompson - 7 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 4 K, HR, 8 GB, 4 FB
Scott Kingery - 1 for 4, R, RBI, BB
J.P. Crawford - 3 for 5, 2 R, RBI
Rhys Hoskins - 1 for 5, RBI, K
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 4, 2 R, RBI, BB, K, SB
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 5, R, 3B, 3 K
Herlis Rodriguez - 1 for 4, R, K, HBP

An effective Jake Thompson has been a rare sight this season, so take this all in. His lone mistake came on a 2-run HR in the 3rd inning off former major leaguer Rickie Weeks. J.P. Crawford’s season average is now up to .221, which is the highest its been this year. He is slowly closing in on Dylan Cozens’ current season mark of .239. Bets can be placed now on when Crawford overtakes it.

Reading 6, Erie 3

Cole Irvin - 6.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 10 K, HBP, 4 GB, 4 FB
Austin Davis - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Victor Arano - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Jiandido Tromp - 0 for 4
Howie Kendrick - 1 for 4, 2 R, HR
Carlos Tocci - 3 for 4, 3 R, 2B
Mitch Walding - 2 for 4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 K
Angelo Mora - 2 for 4, 2B, RBI
Malquin Canelo - 0 for 3

A Howie Kendrick rehab sighting! He manned left field last night and had a solo HR in the first inning. Mitch Walding also added his 23rd dinger of the season. Not surprising, that mark leads the Eastern League and is 3 ahead of the 2nd best. Most importantly this game was Cole Irvin’s showing. His 10 strikeouts were a career-high, besting his 8 strikeout performance when he opened the 2017 season in Clearwater. The 23 year old lefty across two level sports a 2.76 ERA and has struck out 82 (to 25 walks) in 101 innings.

Dunedin 2, Clearwater 1

Edgar Garcia - 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 7 K, 2 WP, 7 GB, 1 FB
Mark Laird - 0 for 3, BB
Jan Hernandez - 0 for 4, 2 K
Cornelius Randolph - 1 for 4
Wilson Garcia - 1 for 4
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 3, BB (passed ball)
Zach Green - 1 for 4, 2B
Derek Campbell - 2 for 3, R, 2B, BB
Grenny Cumana - 0 for 3, K
Emmanuel Marrero - 1 for 3, 2B, RBI, K, SB

Go figure Edgar Garcia has his best performance of the season, going a season-high 6 innings and still takes the loss. Though, that seems to be the way Clearwater has been operating as of late. The offense last night went 1 for 4 and left 7 on base. Cornelius Randolph extended his hitting streak to 5 games and is batting .378 in his last 10.

Rome 3, Lakewood 1 (GM1 of DH, 7 innings)
Lakewood 2, Rome 0 (GM2 of DH, 7 innings, makeup of 7/13 ppd)

Mauricio Llovera - 5 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 3 K, 3 WP, 7 GB, 2 FB (pickoff error)

Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 3, 2 K
Raul Rivas - 3 for 6, 2 R, RBI
Daniel Brito - 0 for 4, K
Henri Lartigue - 2 for 5, BB, K
Mickey Moniak - 1 for 3, BB, K
Edgar Cabral - 1 for 4, K
Darick Hall - 1 for 6, RBI, BB, K
Gregori Rivero - 0 for 3, 2 K
David Martinelli - 1 for 6 (outfield assist, 1B)
Luke Williams - 0 for 5, R, BB, K, SB
Jesus Alastre - 3 for 6, SB
Juan Luis - 0 for 2, K

I (and I’m assuming many of you) were probably all geared up for a Sixto Sanchez start last night only to be disappointed. The game was actually available on MiLB.tv to boot. Alas, we are hearing that he was given extra rest and will likely pitch this weekend. Otherwise, Gustavo Armas did fairly well in Sanchez’s place last night, picking up his first win of the season.

Williamsport 5, Batavia 4

Kyle Young - 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 4 K, 7 GB, 2 FB
Nick Maton - 1 for 5, RBI, K, SB
Jake Scheiner - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Adam Haseley - 1 for 4, RBI, K, SB
Greg Pickett - 0 for 4, 2 K
Colby Fitch - 2 for 3, HR, BB
Cole Stobbe - 1 for 4, R, 2 K
Josh Stephen - 0 for 4, R, K
Rodolfo Duran - 0 for 3, R, BB (throwing error)
Malvin Matos - 0 for 0, R, BB
Austin Listi - 1 for 3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 K

Kyle Young improves to 5-0 (1.59 ERA) and 2017 13th round pick Colby Fitch hits his first professional HR. Adam Haseley swiped his 4th bag of the season.

Kevin Markham - 0 for 4, R, BB, K
Keudy Bocio - 0 for 5, K (fielding error)
