Phillies Minor League Roundup for 8/10

SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game - World Team v United States

Weekend Probables:

LHV: Jose Tavares, TBD, TBD
REA: Cole Irvin, GM1 Jacob Waguespack, GM2 Drew Anderson, Tyler Viza
CLR: Sixto Sanchez, Ranger Suarez, Harold Arauz
LWD: Gustavo Armas, Felix Paulino, Adonis Medina
WIL: Julian Garcia, Andrew Brown, TBD

Charlotte 9, Lehigh Valley 8

Ben Lively - 4.2 IP, 10 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, HR, 6 GB, 2 FB
Scott Kingery - 1 for 5, R, K
J.P. Crawford - 2 for 4, 2 R, BB, CS
Cam Perkins - 0 for 4, R, BB, 2 K
Dylan Cozens - 2 for 5, RBI, K
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI, K

Ben Lively could not out-duel White Sox prospect Lucas Giolito and took his 4th loss of the season. LHV’s comeback fell short after scoring two runs in the bottom of the 9th to make it a 1-run game. J.P. Crawford is hitting a season-high .236 after opening the season with an awful two months to the season. He is hitting .325 in his last 10 games with 3 homeruns and is a Freddy Galvis injury away from starting everyday for the Phillies. The kid is good.

Altoona 9, Reading 4

Franklyn Kilome - 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, WP, 6 GB, 1 FB
Garrett Cleavinger - 0.1 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 1 ER, BB, K
Zach Coppola - 1 for 3, 2 BB, SB
Angelo Mora - 1 for 3, 2 BB
Carlos Tocci - 2 for 4, R, BB (fielding error)
Kyle Martin - 1 for 5, R, K
Jiandido Tromp - 2 for 5, K (outfield assist, 3B)
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 5, RBI (missed catch error)
Malquin Canelo - 0 for 4, 2 K (fielding error)

Perhaps not the most ideal AA debut for Franklyn Kilome yesterday evening. From what little I watched, Kilome had a lot of trouble locating his fastball, especially in the 2nd inning where he gave up 2 of his 3 earned runs. However, the breaking pitches look absolutely beautiful and fooled a good many of the Curve’s batters. In fun facts, despite scoring 4 runs on 9 hits, the Fightins were 0 for 15 with RISP and left 12 on base. Not surprisingly, they were held without an extra base hit to complete the feat.

Lakeland 3, Clearwater 1

McKenzie Mills - 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 8 K, 3 GB, 3 FB (throwing error)
Jose Gomez - 1 for 4, 2 K
Cornelius Randolph - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, K
Wilson Garcia - 2 for 4, 2B
Zach Green - 0 for 4, 3 K
Edgar Cabral - 0 for 4, 3 K
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 4, K

McKenzie Mills makes his 2nd career appearance for the Phillies organization with his first quality start. He had a 5 inning, 1 run performance in his debut with no walks and 1 strikeout. Cornelius Randolph improved his season line to .253/.344/.399 with 11 HR and 7 SB.

Delmarva 2, Lakewood 1

Luis Carrasco - 5.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, WP, 5 GB, 3 FB
Daniel Brito - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI
Arquimedes Gamboa - 1 for 4, 2 K (throwing error)
Henri Lartigue - 0 for 3, K
Darick Hall - 0 for 3
Austin Listi - 0 for 3, K
Gregori Rivero - 0 for 3, K
David Martinelli - 0 for 3
Luke Williams - 1 for 3, 2B, K, SB
Jesus Alastre - 0 for 3, R, K

Luis Carrasco makes his low-A debut after 6 starts in the NY-Penn League to begin the season. Mickey Moniak has now received two days off this week after his poor play at the plate continues. Henri Lartigue returns from the DL, playing his first game since July 31st.

Staten Island 1, Williamsport 0

Spencer Howard - 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K, 1 GB, 3 FB
Malvin Matos - 1 for 3, 2B, BB
Josh Stephen - 0 for 3, BB, K
Jake Scheiner - 0 for 4, K
Greg Pickett - 0 for 4, K
Jhailyn Ortiz - 0 for 0, BB, SB
Adam Haseley - 0 for 3, K
Cole Stobbe - 0 for 4, 3 K
Brian Mims - 0 for 1, 2 BB
Rodolfo Duran - 0 for 3, K
Jesus Azuaje - 0 for 3

Spencer Howard gets his first no-hitter in the books, which I’m sure will be one of many in his professional career. 2017 12th Round pick David Parkinson pitched 3 innings of relief and gave up the lone run in the game. Scary moment as Jhailyn Ortiz leaves the game (after picking up his 5th stolen base) with tightness in his hamstring. Let’s just hope that it was only precautionary.

GCL Phillies 12, GCL Tigers East 2

Ethan Lindow - 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 6 K, 6 GB, 3 FB
Simon Muzziotti - 1 for 1
Yahir Gurrola - 2 for 4, 2 R, RBI, K, SB, HBP
Jake Holmes - 3 for 6, 2B, 4 RBI, SB
Jonathan Guzman - 1 for 5, R, RBI, K
Quincy Nieporte - 1 for 3, RBI, BB
Rafael Marchan - 1 for 3, HBP
Brayan Gonzalez - 1 for 4, 2 R, RBI, BB, 2 K
Kevin Markham - 3 for 5, R
Danny Mayer - 1 for 4, 2 R, 2B, 3 RBI, HBP
Keudy Bocio - 3 for 5, 2 R, 2B, RBI, K (fielding error)
