The injury rain clouds have crapped all over the Phillies again. And this time, it’s personal.
Odubel Herrera, the best hitter on the Phillies, is hurt.
Odubel Herrera is not in the lineup. He may have tweaked something last night. So the Phillies’ outfield is Hoskins-Williams-Kim.

That thing he tweaked is his left hamstring. We don’t know much about it right now, like how badly it’s hurt, or how long he’ll be out. We don’t even know if this is DL worthy. Presumably we’ll find out more tomorrow.
Herrera has been on an absolute tear since June 1, hitting .343/.388/.579. He’s also in the middle of a 17-game hitting streak, which will just have to be put on pause for now.
Hamstring stuff is tricky, as we’ve seen with Aaron Altherr. (And some of us still carry the scars from 2010 Jimmy Rollins.) And so while that hammy is squealing (see what I did there?), Odubel should definitely sit. Even though he will be missed very much by me, and many others.
Daniel Nava, who I keep forgetting is still on this team, is also hurt. He’s got a back strain, so the Phillies have sent him to the DL. Nava hasn’t appeared in a game in four days, and I thought he’d wandered off somewhere looking for a nosh in the Mission and hadn’t come back. But hey, at least he’s not lost trying to find a fish taco. To take Nava’s place, they’ve called Cameron Perkins back up from Triple-A.
Get well soon, guys.
