Lehigh Valley 5, Syracuse 1

Brandon Leibrandt - 6 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 7 GB, 4 FB, Pickoff (1st base)
Scott Kingery - 1-for-5
J.P. Crawford - 1-for-2, 2 R, 2 BB, K

Dylan Cozens - 2-for-4, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2 HR
Andrew Pullin - 0-for-1
Angelo Mora - 0-for-4
Herlis Rodriguez - 0-for-0, BB

The IronPigs picked up the W to split the 4-game set with Syracuse. Dylan Cozens ended two streaks tonight: he homered for the first time since July 22 and he did not strike out in a game in which he received more than 1 PA for the first time since July 14. Scott Kingery extended his hit streak to 22 games on a bloop single to right field. J.P. Crawford and Carlos Tocci bounced back from their combined 0-for-10 with a nice night at the dish. Brandon Leibrandt threw 6 solid innings in the W.

Reading 4, Harrisburg 2

Tyler Viza - 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R (1 ER), 3 K, 9 GB, 2 FB
Zach Coppola - 2-for-3, R, HBP, SB, CS, Picked off (1st base)
Jiandido Tromp - 1-for-4, R, 2 K
Mitch Walding - 1-for-4, K
Kyle Martin - 0-for-3, R, RBI, BB, K
Zach Green - 0-for-1, K
Malquin Canelo - 0-for-3, K

Reading took care of business in the first game of their 4-game series against the Senators. Tyler Viza pitched 6 effective innings before giving way to Tom Windle and Victor Arano who closed it out. Most of the Fightins’ offense came by way of a Damek Tomscha 3-run blast in the 1st inning. They tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th on a Kyle Martin fielder’s choice ground out. Zach Coppola swiped his 27th bag with Reading and 37th overall; he was also caught stealing for the 8th time with Reading and 14th overall.

Clearwater 8, Fort Myers 5

Edgar Garcia - 2 IP, 4 H, 4 R (4 ER), 3 BB, 2 K, HBP, 1 GB, 2 FB

Edgar Cabral - 1-for-4, RBI, BB
Jose Pujols - 2-for-4, R, 2 RBI, HR, BB, K
Grenny Cumana - 2-for-4, R

Edgar Garcia lasted just 2 innings in this one but the Threshers still managed to pick up the win. Jose Gomez had multiple hits for the second night in a row and for the third time in the last four games. He’s hit in all but one game since joining the Threshers on August 7. Jose Pujols had an RBI single in the 1st inning to put Clearwater up 2-1 before later tying the game at 4 with his 8th home run of the season. Seth McGarry, after two rough outings in a row, picked up his 4th save for the Threshers which was his 18th overall this season.

Hagerstown 11, Lakewood 5

Mauricio Llovera - 2.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R (4 ER), 5 BB, 2 K, 2 GB, 1 FB

Austin Listi - 3-for-5, R, RBI, 2B, Outfield assist (2nd base)
Gregori Rivero - 2-for-4, R, K
Luke Williams - 1-for-4, K

All but one Lakewood pitcher allowed a run in Hagerstown’s offensive outburst. Vince Velas... I mean Mauricio Llovera needed 72 pitches to get through 2.2 innings of work on the mound. Darick Hall provided a good bulk of the offense once again with an RBI ground out in the 1st and a solo HR in the 5th. Adam Haseley and Mickey Moniak had decent nights at the plate, each scoring a run and picking up a knock with Moniak’s being a double.

Rodolfo Duran - 2-for-3, 2 R, RBI, 2B, 3B, BB, E (throwing)
Jesus Azuaje - 0-for-2, 2 RBI, Sac bunt, Sac fly

Williamsport took the W in this one behind a decently effective yet wild outing from Will Stewart. The 5-9 spots in the order provided most of the offense in this one. Rodolfo Duran and Cole Stobbe both doubled and picked up a pair of hits each. According to Justin Hawkins of FOX Sports Williamsport, Malvin Matos may have been removed from the game due to a possible injury.
