Game Thread 8/9: Phillies at Braves

Yay it’s time to leave Atlanta.

The Phillies are on the edge of another winning streak. I’m so frightened. Because every time the Phillies go on a winning streak, it’s inevitably followed by a losing streak.

Look at me. I’m scared of the Phillies winning more than two games in a row. That’s what this season has done to me. My fandom is a quivering lump of jelly, afraid to be touched or even looked at.

And yet if the season ended today, I would be sad. Go figure.

Hey look it’s Cameron Rupp again. I’m so glad the Phillies called up Jorge Alfaro just so their brilliant manager Pete Mackanin can sit him 4-6 days a week. I understand there was no other option, but Cameron Rupp is BAD. Jorge Alfaro is right there! He’s literally sitting right there, able to put on catchers gear and pick up a mask at any point. LET HIM DO IT.

I AM SO TIRED OF PETE MACKANIN.
