Lehigh Valley 5, Syracuse 1
Tom Eshelman - 7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 K, 6 GB, 7 FB
Scott Kingery - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K
J.P. Crawford - 2 for 5, 2B, 2 RBI
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 4, R, 2B, K
Angelo Mora - 1 for 4, SB (throwing error)
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 4, 2 K
If this was Tom Eshelman’s last start of the season, it wasn’t a bad way to go out. He closed out with his 10th AAA win and a 2.23 ERA in 121 innings. J.P. Crawford has his first multi-hit game since August 20th. Logan Moore hit his 6th HR and is a likely candidate to be the 3rd catcher for the Phillies when Lehigh’s season comes to an end. Even with the win, the IronPigs Wildcard elimination number fell to 3 games with Rochester winning last night.
New Hampshire 8, Reading 6
Franklyn Kilome - 3.2 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 5 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, K, 4 GB, 4 FB
Odubel Herrera - 2 for 2, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, BB (fielding error)
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 4, HR, 4 RBI, BB, K

Deivi Grullon - 0 for 4, BB, 3 K (throwing error)
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 4, R, K
Zach Coppola - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2 2B, K
While it might be a sour note to end on, we must all remember that this should be considered a largely successful season for Franklyn Kilome. He mastered High-A ball and held his own in 5 starts in AA. I’m very excited to see what he can put together in a full season at AA in 2018. You may have caught an Odubel Herrera rehab sighting above. He’ll likely be recalled back up to the big club after this weekend.

Keep on hitting to close out the season Mickey, please. That’s now 4-game hitting streak for Moniak (he’s hit safely in 5 of his last 6 games). He stole his 11th base last night as well. Mauricio Llovera was cruising most of the evening until he hit the 6th inning, however one of those earned runs scored after he exited.

Kyle Young - 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, BB, 5 K, 8 GB, 3 FB

Greg Pickett - 0 for 3, K
Yahir Gurrola - 0 for 3
Luis Encarnacion - 1 for 3, HR, K
Nerluis Martinez - 0 for 3, K
Brian Mims - 1 for 3, R, 3B, K
The Phillies let Kyle Young loose last night, allowing him to go a career-high 6 innings. It looks like he will finish the season with a 2.75 ERA with 66 strikeouts to 14 walks in 59 innings. Luis Encarnacion hit a solo HR (2) in the 3rd inning last night. Brian Mims followed it up with a 1-out triple and then came home to score via a wild pitch.
