Philadelphia at Washington! Season opener! Let’s see some pigskins flying and touchdowns and —
Oh wait, I’m sorry. I’m thinking of a different Philadelphia at Washington game. We want home runs, not touchdowns. Well, actually we want both. (Go Eagles!)
This is the strangest lineup yet. Rhys Hoskins and J.P. Crawford are still playing out of position, but Tommy Joseph is sitting today, and Maikel Franco is starting. How does that happen when Hoskins is playing left field and Crawford is at third? Maikel Franco is at first. That’s certainly a way you could do it.
Today is significant for another reason besides another weird lineup. Today we welcome Aaron Altherr back to the starting lineup for the first time in what feels like a year. He’s in center, which is an interesting choice for his first game back, but unless he wanted to put Rhys Hoskins where he belongs, this is how it has to be. I guess. I don’t know. I give up. I give up!
