Game Thread 9/18: Dodgers at Phillies

Let the death march begin.

Oakland Athletics v Philadelphia Phillies
Come to me, my little dumpling.

I have been dreading this series for a month. I started dreading it even more when the Dodgers lost all those games and then started winning again. And when the Athletics took two of three from the Phillies last weekend, I wanted to run far away.

There are two things that could happen while the Dodgers are playing the Phillies: they could clinch the NL West (their magic number is four), and they could hit the 100 win mark. The Dodgers are at 96 wins, so Phillies would have to get swept for them to hit 100 wins.

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. Phillies, win at least one game. Or maybe even two. Please?

Today's Lineups

LOS ANGELES DODGERS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Chris Taylor - CF Odubel Herrera - CF
Justin Turner - 3B Freddy Galvis - SS
Cody Bellinger - 1B Nick Williams - RF
Yasiel Puig - RF Rhys Hoskins - 1B
Austin Barnes - C Aaron Altherr - LF
Curtis Granderson - LF Maikel Franco - 3B
Chase Utley - 2B J.P. Crawford - 2B
Enrique Hernandez - SS Jorge Alfaro - C
Clayton Kershaw - LHP Nick Pivetta - RHP

Oh god, Clayton Kershaw vs. Nick Pivetta. That’s not fair. Nooooooo...

Okay. Take a deep breath. Maybe it won’t be the horror show I’m picturing in my head. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Visualize good things! They probably won’t happen in real life, but hey, at least they’ll happen in my head!
