Can Aaron Nola pull a Nick Pivetta?

Last night was pretty awesome with the Phillies winning, right? Well forget about that, because the past is past. There is nothing but the present! Abandon your memories! LIVE ONLY IN THE NOW!

Okay, I didn’t really mean that. That was all a bit harsh. I’m mostly trying to say HEY LOOK AT THIS LINEUP.

Today's Lineups

PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES MIAMI MARLINS
Cesar Hernandez - 2B Dee Gordon - 2B
Freddy Galvis - SS Giancarlo Stanton - RF
Nick Williams - RF Christian Yelich - CF
Rhys Hoskins - LF Marcell Ozuna - LF
Tommy Joseph - 1B J.T. Realmuto - C
Maikel Franco - 3B Brian Anderson - 3B
Pedro Florimon - CF Tomas Telis - 1B
Cameron Rupp - C Miguel Rojas - SS
Aaron Nola - RHP Dan Straily - RHP

It’s the same lineup we’ve come to expect from Pete Mackanin, slavish devotee of Cameron Rupp and Tommy Joseph. Rupp is catching, Joseph is at first, which puts Rhys Hoskins in left field, of course. Ugh.

But you know what? There should be no ugh. Because today is Aaron Nola day! Aaron Nola starts are beautiful and glorious and marvelous. They are like a golden ray of sunlight in a dark rainstorm. They are like the brilliant diamond in a sack of shitty rhinestones. THEY ARE ONE OF THE ONLY PURELY, TRULY EXCITING THINGS IN THIS CRAP FACTORY OF A SEASON.

Ahem. Anyway. Tonight is an Aaron Nola start, and I hope you cherish it like I will.
