The Good Phight’s Free Agency Predictions

Where we try and make sense of who is going where

We here at The Good Phight are prognosticators. We have the ability to tap into the future, see what shakes out and give you instant analysis.

Actually, we are more like that meme from It’s Always Sunny when it comes to picking who will go where.

So what we’ve decided to do is have a little fun with the free agency market. I put out to our writing staff (and a few friends) a little contest to see which one of use can predict who will end up where after all the dust has settled and all the money has been given out. Below are the predictions of the top 15 free agents as created by MLB Trade Rumors and where we believe they will all end up. (note: this was done prior to the Josh Donaldson news, so congrats, Stolnis!)

Every one of us thinks Bryce Harper will be a Gritty convert and will nest in Philadelphia. Most everyone think Patrick Corbin will join the Evil Empire except for one John Stolnis, who holds out hope that he will make a nice #2 starter behind Aaron Nola. Everyone else?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is how the point system will work, devised by me so there.

  • 5 points = correctly match the player to the team
  • 3 points = correctly match the player to the division
  • 1 point = correctly match the player to the league
  • 0 points = incorrect prediction

As you see, John correctly put Josh Donaldson on the Braves. Therefore, he gets 5 points. No, I’m not going to give all the points for him getting the team, division and league. That’s a little ridiculous.

The winner gets one (1) free hug and bragging rights as being our resident Carnac. Good luck to all.
