The Phillies made some news yesterday...FINALLY ACQUIRING THAT PLAYER YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED THEM TO ACQUIRE FROM THE LOS ANGELES ANGELS!!!!! IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!!

• Big radio news: the Phillies have decided to choose Kevin Frandsen from the three Kevins auditioning for the full-time gig for radio broadcasts. This is the right choice, as he was clearly the best, most entertaining option. Now, let’s just hope this pushes Larry Andersen out to pasture a little bit quicker.

• Emma Baccellieri wrote about the Phillies offseason spending plans right here for Sports Illustrated. SPORTS ILLUSTRATED! Well we’re movin’ on up....
• Super sad news as Luis Valbuena and Jose Castillo have passed away tragically in a car accident.
• Jonathan Schoop is heading to Minnesota, signing a 1 year, $7.5 million contract.
• Nate Eovaldi is going to back to Boston, stealing agreeing to a 4 year, $68 million deal yesterday. For anyone who wanted him....we’ve already got him in the form of Nick Pivetta.
• The Indians. Oh, those Indians. They agreed to extend Carlos Carrasco yesterday, handing him a 3 year extension on top of his current extension. This comes about a month after they were having been rumored to be wanting to trade some of their pitching depth because...wait for it...their payroll was getting too high. Yup, lots of things making sense out there in Cleveland.
