They didn’t reinvent the wheel, but the Phillies new logo is different.
The team announced the move in an unusual way, via a tweet by the team’s Merchandise Store.

Logo and jersey guru Chris Creamer wrote about the new logo, and made a mock-up of how it compares to the previous edition.

Most notable is the removal of the field-like shape around the Liberty Bell and the Phillies script. Now, the bell is out on its own, and is a darker shade of blue. The blue stars above Phillies is also darker, although the script remains the same.
It’s not a big change. In fact, it’s really not much of a change at all. But maybe that’s a good thing!
