Game Thread 4/10: Reds at Phillies

Aaron Nola gets the start after a close win in the series opener.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers at Philadelphia Phillies Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Phillies lineup, whoever that is, will face Cincinnati starter Homer Bailey tonight, a man who is, yes, still pitching. He’s got a 5.66 career ERA at Citizens Bank Park, but that was while facing a different generation of Phillies hitters. The only current Phillies who have faced him are Cesar Hernandez and Carlos Santana, who have a combined seven at-bats against him. So what you see tonight is going to be mostly new.

Meanwhile, a Nola start on the first Dollar Dog Night? Let’s hope by the end of the night we’re all dancing like that pig in a chef’s hat who emerges from behind the outfield fence on nights like this. Baseball is weird, sometimes, I think.
